MAC Matte Lipstick in Lady Danger Review

I recently got 5 MAC lipsticks, 4 of them a friend picked up for me from Hong Kong where they retail for about $22 AUD each, in comparison to $36 AUD in Australia. I'll be blogging about each of them eventually!

I'll be reviewing Lady Danger lipstick, which is described on the MAC website as a "vivid bright coral-red," with a matte finish, which I definitely agree with. It doesn't have much of a blue undertone, more of a yellow. Because it is a matte formulation, it is slightly drying, but with a lip balm underneath it feels quite a bit better, and it lasts quite well due to the formula.
When I used it, I used NYX's Orange lip liner pencil, because I haven't bought a shade that suits it properly yet, but I think it matched quite decently. Check out my post on NYX lip liners here.

I think this is definitely a very opaque lipstick. I did hand swatches with one swipe, and with a few swipes, so that you can see and compare the difference. Even with one swipe, it was almost 100% opaque, so full marks go to this lipstick in the pigmentation category.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this lipstick if you're looking for a bright, matte red, because I love it!

NYX Lip Pencils PART 1

Hi all! This post will be about the NYX lip liner pencils. They are 1G, or 0.04 OZ, and are made in Germany. Their RRP is $3.50 (US), but they are often on sale.
You can buy them from www.nyxcosmetics.com and Ulta, but as I live in Australia, I buy my NYX makeup from www.cherryculture.com and www.beautyjoint.com. Cherry Culture in particular often has 20% off or higher sales. I have 8 shades at the moment - 812 plum, 816 fuchsia, 824 orange, 836 bloom, 844 deep red, 858 nude pink, 859 edge pink, 860 peekaboo neutral.

I find their consistency to be quite creamy, slightly slightly drying on the lips after a while, though I find that this is good because it helps stop bleeding of lipsticks.

Orange is actually a more bright orange, it would perfectly suit Morange lipstick by MAC. Nude pink is one of my favourites! Deep red's colour is closest to the picture with flash, but it is slightly more of a dirty red colour.

I would happily buy more and extremely recommend these as they are inexpensive and are dupes to a lot of higher end lip pencils.

The colours I'm planning on buying next are Auburn, Pinky, Hot Pink, Rose, Coral, Purple Rain, Plush Red, Deep Purple, Dolly Pink, Sand Pink, Pale Pink and Hot Red.
